Future of Jobs Report 2026

Published by World Economic Forum, not Oxford SBM

A survey of 800 companies across 22 industries and 55 economies, covering roughly 150 million workers, on how AI and technology are reshaping employment through 2030.

Key findings

Summarised from the published report. For full methodology and data, read the original at World Economic Forum.

  • AI and related technologies are projected to create around 170 million new roles globally by 2030, while displacing roughly 92 million existing ones.
  • The resulting net gain of about 78 million jobs will not be evenly distributed: workers losing roles are not automatically the ones filling new ones.
  • Job growth is concentrated unevenly by region, with the Asia-Pacific and North America & Western Europe showing the strongest growth from manufacturing modernisation, AI demand and green infrastructure.
